The telemetry tower is done. Then I had the idea to add a few greeblies so you could customize it. I'll be adding some pretty simple things. One will be a set of joiners, so you can stack the towers. Then there will be phased array antennas (basically a 3D version of the existing texture--they will completely overlay the texture. Plus, two type of antennas to stick on the sides of the tower. The reason I want to add them is that the Telemetry Tower is a pretty basic model, and I felt it needed some oomph.

Will this set be compatible with earlier Tango Prime?

Yes. It uses the same textures. It's designed to be standalone or as a tower with the Outpost set, which has a 3x3" footprint, as opposed to Tango Prime's 4x4 footprint.

Coming up on the end. I added a blank tower, so you can customize it with the add-ons without worrying about lining up with the pre-printed texture.

Here you can see the two versions of the tower included in Telemetry Tower. On the left is the plain tower with appliqued doors, weapons, and antennae. On the right the textured tower for a quick, good-looking piece without a lot of hassle. Done for the day because we're running down to the Norton Simon in Pasadena to gawk in the Old Masters gallery, then dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, The Melting Pot, for fondue.

I love the dome on the plain tower. Will that be a difficult build?

I was really afraid it was going to be a bear and almost dumped it. It's fairly straightforward, though. I split each horizontal band into a ring. If you work from the top down, it's not too hard.

sounds similar to the dome on my Mayate command car, and that was easier than I feared.

I tend toward easy to build. I'm not really aiming at the hobbyist who can devote days and days building one card stock model with infinitesimal parts. It sometimes makes me overly cautious in my designs.
